3rd Asia-Pacific Meeting on Education 2030 (AMPED 2030)

Asia Pacific Coalition for School Safety (APCSS) representatives (UNESCO, UNICEF, Save the Children, Plan International) participated in the third technical meeting on Education 2030 in Asia and the Pacific, which was held from 4-7 July 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The aim of this year’s meeting is to enhance Member States’ understanding and capacity to mainstream elements of SDG target 4.7 (i.e. education for sustainable development (ESD), global citizenship education (GCED), human rights education, peace education, health education, etc.) into policies, plans, curricula and teaching and to operationalize, monitor and report on SDG target 4.7.

During the meeting, APCSS representatives engaged in different parallel discussions to understand the priorities and actions towards the achievement of SDG4-Education 2030, as well as to share information and promote for the inclusion of school safety in the countries’ planning.

During the APMED 2030, an exhibition corner organised by APCSS members was set up in the market place of the meeting. The APCSS booth, with many materials contributed by APCSS members, showcased APCSS members’ recent accomplishment through various technical guidelines and materials to promote for best practices on school safety, disaster risk reduction in education sector, and sustainability in education sector in the context of natural hazards and environmental change.
